How to avoid debt

Do not try to live beyond your means or feel a sense of entitlement when it comes to possessions. A lot of young people have the attitude that they "deserve" something, and then they buy things that they can't afford. This is not good.

Another thing is to just be smart when it comes to credit cards. A good rule is that if you aren't going to be able to pay it off at the end of the month in full, then don't use the credit card. It's no big secret that credit cards charge enormous interest, so if you fall into that trap, you will get into debt very quickly.
